You're running
late. They
already know.
Oops, I'm Late! watches your calendar and your GPS, then has the right people's message ready the moment your ETA slips past the meeting time (with any grace period you set). Hands-free. One tap. Never the awkward call from the car (unless you want to).
Selected reviews,
2007 → 2010
Four small steps.
Zero awkward calls.
You don't enter a destination. You don't pick a contact. You don't even unlock the phone. Oops watches the calendar you already keep — and speaks up only when the math says you won't make it.
Keep your calendar
Add appointments the way you always have — Apple, Outlook, anywhere. Choose which calendars it watches. We read the time, the address, and the attendees from your phone, on-device.
Start the trip
Tap the next event from the home card, or let it wake up when you leave. The engine tracks GPS in the background and recomputes a live ETA every few seconds.
The alert fires
If your projected arrival drifts past the meeting time, a full-screen countdown takes over. The message is already written — for the right people.
One tap. Or one word.
Tap Send Now, say "send", or snooze. Your messaging app opens with the message ready and you hit Send. Prefer to get ahead of it? Send an "on my way" before you're even late.
Hands stay on
the wheel.
Texting from the car shouldn't be the price of being human. v2.0 ships with a voice-first flow, CarPlay and Android Auto support, and an Apple Watch companion for everywhere your phone can't reach.
Speak to confirm. Or say cancel.
Text-to-speech reads the drafted message aloud; speech recognition listens for "send" or "cancel". Falls back to big Send and Cancel buttons when the mic isn't available.
It knows when you're behind the wheel.
On-device motion detection switches to a single glanceable screen and voice-first sending. The alert still gets through Driving Focus. A passenger can override with two taps.
Glanceable ETA, dashboard-native.
A two-tile screen: live ETA and the voice prompt. Big buttons, no fiddly text, no map you have to ignore the road for.
The countdown on your wrist and lock screen.
A Watch countdown, a Live Activity on your lock screen and Dynamic Island, and a leave-by home-screen widget. Haptics ramp from polite to insistent as the deadline closes.
The math used
to fly airplanes,
now lives in your pocket.
Most "ETA" apps pick a number and pray. Ours runs a calibrated IMM-Kalman filter — the same family of estimators used in aircraft and inertial navigation — and shows a P10–P90 confidence band so you know how much to trust it.
-
IMM-Kalman
Three motion models, one estimator.
Constant-velocity, accelerating, and stopped — the filter blends them based on what your GPS is actually doing. Smooth through tunnels, accurate on freeways.
-
Traffic-aware
Private traffic updates.
Pro asks our server for live traffic and uses the lower ETA. Free and Basic run entirely on-device — your location never leaves the phone.
-
Leave-by
It tells you when to leave, too.
Leave-by alerts and a home-screen widget count down to the moment you need to walk out. Punctuality insights show which meetings keep catching you out.
-
Human-in-loop
You always have the last word.
Draft preview, snooze, skip. The countdown is a deliberate window, and the message goes out from your own messaging app — nothing is sent behind your back.
Pay only when
it earns it.
Every tier is ad-free. Upgrade for more places, more groups and live traffic — not because the free version is annoying. Cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

A few questions
before we go.
We've been at this since 2007. We've heard most of them. If yours isn't here, write us at support@oopsimlate.com — we reply within two business days.
Does my location ever leave the phone?
On Free and Basic, no — GPS is processed entirely on-device. Pro asks our server for live traffic; the request carries coarse, rounded coordinates and the destination, never your contacts or your calendar. We never see the message text, the recipient names, or the event details — the message goes out from your own messaging app.
What if I don't want it to send automatically?
Turn off auto-send in Settings. The late warning still fires, but the countdown becomes a confirmation window instead of a send timer. Nothing leaves until you press Send.
Will it drain my battery?
Background tracking only runs during an active trip, using Android's foreground service and iOS's background tasks and significant-location changes rather than continuous GPS. Battery saver mode coarsens the sample rate further. On iPhone, iOS decides how often background checks run, so they are best-effort when the app is closed.
Is this the same app from 2007?
Same idea, completely rewritten. The original ran on Windows Mobile in Compact Framework 2 (yes, really, before the first iPhone and Android). v2.0 is a Flutter app on iOS, with Android following, a fresh ETA engine, and an entirely new design system. The press quotes up top? Those are real, from v1. We saved them.
Can I use it without a subscription forever?
Yes. The free Courtesy tier is intentionally complete — three saved destinations, a live ETA, messages, and an arrival check-in. It is the on-ramp, not a demo. If three is your number, three is your number, and you'll never see an ad.
I don't drive. Will this still help?
Walking, transit, bike — the engine doesn't care; it watches GPS, not what's under your feet. Hands-free is less useful on the train, sure, but the alert and one-tap message work identically.
Do I need the internet for it to work?
No. GPS satellites talk directly to your phone — no data plan needed for positioning. The ETA engine runs entirely on-device. And SMS rides the cellular voice channel, not the internet, so the late text goes through even when there's no data signal. (Live traffic on Pro and email delivery do need a connection.)
Does it come in other languages?
The app is available in English and Spanish today.
Who's behind it?
Alex Reich wrote v1.0 on January 1st, 2007 in Los Angeles, and v2.0 is a ground-up rewrite. Press, support, partnerships → support@oopsimlate.com.
Stop calling.
Start arriving.
v2.0 is free to try. Three destinations, no card, no ads. Upgrade when the math earns it — never sooner.
